Harrington Brooks’ staff added almost £3000 to their charity fundraising total, by participating in the Bupa 10K in Manchester this weekend.

Each year our staff vote for a charity to focus our fundraising efforts on, and this year the money we raise goes to the Macmillan Wellbeing Centre in Trafford, which is near our Manchester offices. The Centre provides care and support for those affected by cancer, providing resources, workshops and counselling to ensure those fighting the disease and their loved ones are better equipped to handle the challenges cancer brings and begin to enjoy life again. 25 members of staff entered the run, with varying levels of running experience and ability. Our local gym helped to train up our wannabe Mo Farrahs and Paula Radcliffes, putting on training sessions every Friday for participants. Individual training regimes varied, from lunchtime sprints to weekend marathons.

The run itself fell on one of the hottest days of the year, making the challenge even tougher, but all our runners completed the course with an average time of just over an hour, and our fastest runner coming in at a speedy 47 minutes.

A huge well done to all our runners and a massive thank you to all the friends, family and colleagues that sponsored our team!
