You can claim for a range of health benefits if you are a recipient of:-
- Income support.
- Income based job seekers allowance.
- Pension credits.
- Child tax credit with income below threshold.
- Working tax credit with a disability element.
If you're not on any other the above but have a low-income you may also qualify. Schemes differ in different parts of the UK, so general advice is given here.
Free Prescriptions
You may also qualify if:
- You are pregnant.
- You are under 16 years old.
- Your are under 19 years old and in full time education.
- You have certain medicals conditions.
- You live in Wales.
Free Dental Treatment
You may also qualify if:
- You are pregnant or have a child under 1 year old.
- You are under 18 years old.
- Your are under 19 years old and in full time education.
- You live in Wales; under 25 or over 60 years old.
Free Eyesight Testing
You may also qualify if:
- You are under 16 years old.
- You are under 19 years old and in full time education.
- You are 60 years old or over.
- You are registered blind or are partially sighted.
- Have prescribed powerful or complex lenses.
- Have a diabetes or glaucoma or in a high risk of glaucoma.
- Are over 40 with and a immediate biological relative of someone with glaucoma.
Vouchers towards the cost of glasses/contact lenses
You may also qualify if:
- You are under 16 years old
- You are under 19 years old and in full time education
- Have eyesight subject to frequent change making current lenses inadequate.
- Have prescribed powerful or complex lenses
You may also be eligible to receive financial help for cost of hospital treatment trips.
