Enforcing Judgment

A CCJ requires you to make payments to your creditors. If payments are not maid, your creditor can go about enforcing judgment through Court. Your creditor will have to pay a fee to apply to Court for enforcing the CCJ and this will be added to your debt.

Methods of enforcing judgment include:

Charging Order – The debt value is taken from the sale of your home.

Warrant of execution – Court-appointed bailiffs will come to your home to seize your goods which they will sell to pay off the debt.

Attachment of Earnings Order - CCJ payments will be taken directly from your wages, and your employer will be forced by law to deduct this money.

It is important to act before the creditor has to begin the process of enforcing judgment. If you feel as though you cannot afford your CCJ payment you can ask the Court to reduce the amount that you owe on a monthly basis.

If the level of unsecured debt means that you find it a problem making payment to your CCJ, Harrington Brooks can help make this more affordable to you. Please contact our expert CCJ debt advisors.
